Señor Villa

Was here in the beginning and didn't think much but easy flavors to entice the community. Today I was proven wrong. They have an amazing spicy salsa that is flavorful and even better with a few limes to bring out even more flavor. The new items on the menu are going to bring us back. If you know what you're looking for, there are better flavors beyond a quesadilla. We will be back over and over again. Thank you to our server, the floor manager and the chefs behind the scene. They all came together for an amazing experience!

This restaurant is awesome!!! The waiter was very knowledgeable and on top of his game. The young man that delivered our food was great as well! I ordered the Texan with chicken & shrimp!! Then Tres Leche cake for dessert. It was well worth the drive into downtown off of 90E. Will definitely stop again when we travel thru.

I stopped in for lunch last Sunday afternoon with my son and my brother-in-law. We ordered tacos, a chimichanga and quesadillas. All of the food was great and the wait for our order was minimal. The wait staff was very friendly and their service was great. The restaurant was very clean.

One of the best Mexican options in town. Great service, seated quickly and served quickly. Food portion is great and taste amazing. Visit this place very often. Service is fast even when they are busy.

We ate at Senor villa last night, as we have many times before. Carlos was our waiter (he’s taken care of us so many times and greets us so warmly even if he’s not waiting on us). We had just come from seeing my Dad who had been placed in the ICU earlier that day, so not a great day to start. Carlos has no idea, but he absolutely turned our day around with his warm smile and presence. Keep up the awesome work!

My family goes out for Mexican food a lot - and I mean A LOT. So for this place to rise to the top of the list is an accomplishment in itself. So many good things, starting with complimentary chips & salsa, which apparently isn’t the norm in La Crosse. We saw quite a few places in the Google search results that charged for chips & salsa, which is the main reason we asked the barista at the coffee shop we were at to recommend a place where they’re complimentary. Free is great, but these were free and crave worthy. The salsa...oh, the salsa!! It has the most perfect flavor balance! I honestly don’t think I can recall another salsa that’s better than theirs. Additionally, they serve a delicious white sauce alongside the salsa (as many places do) but, again, it’s better than anywhere I’ve ever had it! Thankfully, that’s not where the flavor explosion ended. My husband ordered the Senor Burrito with chicken and it was massive & delicious, covered in burrito & cheese sauce and served with a large side lettuce salad with pico de gallo. I ordered the chicken enchiladas verdes with excellent verde sauce & served with a large helping of rice, beans, and lettuce & tomato side salad drizzled with sour cream. If I’m being insanely nitpicky, the shredded chicken could’ve been a tad more tender, but that honestly is the only fault that I could find. The servers were also efficient and pleasant. Outstanding experience all around that left me wishing I didn’t live over 2 hours away! If we were closer, we’d definitely replace our local go-to Mexican place with Senor Villa!

We were passing through and looking to have some good salsa with dinner. We had the fajitas and tacos and enjoyed both. The chicken was seasoned well and we're flavorful. We liked the salsa very much. They also had a white sauce for dipping... kind of like a southwest ranch which was great on the tacos.

My expectations for good Mexican food in La Crosse was not high having eaten at lots of California and Texan restaurants. Senor Villa didn’t disappoint. I ordered the Shrimp Relleno, which tasted very authentic, with its gooey melted cheese and fresh-tasting shrimp stuffed into the tender poblano pepper. My only slight disappointment was the chips were not very warm when it was served, typically Mexican restaurants toast it to a level of hotness to bite your fingers when it’s first brought out so you have to wait a little before you dip into the salsa. Their salsa was a little bland but they give you lots of hot sauce options at the table to adjust the heat level, some like it hot, some like it not. Service was very friendly and quick. Prices were fair and probably on the cheaper end, but that’s relative to my experience from eating out in larger cities.
